Different workplaces create different hazards depending on the size of the site and amount of staff. With the exception of Logging Operations standard, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) do not require that you have a specific first aid kit or specific contents. OSHA 1910.151 does require a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available. Many employers do however, find it helpful to build or purchase a first aid kit based on industry standards. American National Standard Institute (ANSI), designed a reference list (ANSI Z308.1) for Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits and Supplies. First aid kits that meet these requirements will provide a small worksite with proper first aid supplies to assist with most types of injuries that may occur. Although this is a good list to reference from, OSHA recommends that Employers evaluate their workplace and determine hazards which aren’t adequately covered by ANSI Z308.1, in order to identify necessary supplies that meet the needs of their worksite. Listed below is the ANSI Z308.1 minimum requirements created in 2009.

When it comes to lift chairs there is a lot you should know before making the important decision on where to get it and which one to get. Lift Chairs are chairs that are attached to an electric actuator that assist individuals in getting in and out of the chair. Lift chairs come in a variety of colors, sizes and styles. There are several manufactures of Lift Chairs in the US, the most notable and popular being Pride Mobility and Golden Technologies.

Positions- There are 3 main classifications of position ranges within lift chairs. There are 2 position, 3 position and infinite position lift chair.

2 position lift chairs are capable of reclining the user in to what would be the TV watching position (feet up with the seat back reclined slightly 45 degree angle or less). 2 position lift chairs are a great option for people who just need a good chair for watching TV and need assistance getting out of their chair. 2 position lift chairs are typically less expensive than the 3 position and infinite position lift chairs. Keep in mind you are not limited to only 2 positions. You can adjust the chair anywhere within the 2 position range using the remote hand control.

3 position lift chairs will recline back further than the 2 position lift chairs. The 3 position lift chairs are a good option for people who will be spending more time in their lift chair and will occasionally sleep in it. The 3 position lift chairs tend to cost a little more and tend to be of slightly higher quality overall. The 3 position lift chairs are our best selling lift chairs, by far.

Infinite position lift chairs will have 2 or more motors which gives you the freedom and ability to adjust the feet and the seat back independently to allow users to find a customized position that works best. Infinite position lift chairs allow the user to have their legs above their heart to help with certain conditions like leg swelling. Infinite position lift chairs will lay flat which works well for sleeping in the chair. Typically infinite position lift chairs are more costly because of the additional motor and complexities of the lift mechanisms.

Fabrics- There are various colors and fabrics available for your lift chair. Lift chair manufactures have created some amazing stain resistant fabrics and vinyl upholstery options. Some fabric options are special order and require a little extra time for delivery.

Options- Want heat and massage on your lift chair? Heat and massage can be easily added to your lift chair at time time of ordering.

Sizing- It is important that when you purchase a lift chair that you really take the time to find the chair that is right for you. There are many size differences amongst seat widths, seat depths, floor to seat heights, seat back heights and overall lift chair weight capacity. It is important to not just call in a give your height and weight when ordering a lift chair, everyone is different and there is differences throughout the chair models. It is best to come in and test drive them before you buy.

Warranty- Warranty varies on lift chairs by manufacture and models. The higher end chair will have the better warranties. Warranties range from 1-7 years depending on the model.

Northwest Health and Safety Inc is your local source in Vancouver, Washington, also serving Portland, Oregon for Pride lift chairs and accessories. Our customer service representatives are knowledgeable in helping you select the right chair to meet your specific needs. Delivery of you new lift chair is available (fee may apply).
